Natural Companion
Heal the Land. Heal the Soil.
Here in Aotearoa, there's a concept called kaitiakitanga - guardianship. It's the idea that we don't own the land, we care for it, for those who come after us.
You already sense there's a better way to garden - one that works with nature instead of against it. That's exactly what this is.
I believe our gardens can be places where we don't simply grow food, but help restore the living systems that support it too.

I believe our gardens can be places where we don't just simply grow food, but help restore the living systems that support it too.
Healthy soil is the foundation of everything that grows. This is where we dig into the science and practice of building living, fertile ground ๐บ from composting and mulching to understanding soil carbon and the microbial life beneath our feet. It's about working from the ground up, literally.
Nature rarely needs our permission to be brilliant. Here we explore the ecosystems, insects, and wild relationships happening all around us - the weeds that aren't really weeds, the bugs doing more good than harm, and the small discoveries that remind us we're gardening within a much bigger system, not against it.
This is the hands-in-the-dirt heart of it all - growing food, saving seeds, pairing plants that help each other thrive, and trying things out to see what actually works. Equal parts tradition and experiment, it's where the garden becomes a living lab.
Regeneration looks different everywhere it happens. This is a passport stamp collection of sorts - stories of growers, landscapes, and ecosystems from other corners of the globe, and the clever, resourceful ways people (and nature) are healing land far beyond our own backyard.
Come into the Garden
I'm on a regeneration mission. After a vision with one clear message - Heal the Land, Heal the Soil. I started right in my own backyard. No chemicals, no fighting nature, just curiosity and small, meaningful choices.
This is where I'm putting it into practice - my experiments, observations, successes and failures and my children getting their hands dirty right alongside me.
Healing the land. Healing the soil. Healing yourself.
Natural Companion is the earthโrooted side of my work - a gentle space where gardening, regeneration, and slow living meet emotional healing.
This is where I share:
- the quiet wisdom of soil
- the lessons the garden teaches us about patience, presence, and becoming
- regenerative practices that nourish the land and your nervous system
- seasonal rhythms that help you slow down and reconnect.
